Za razliku od cele automobilske industrije,gde automibili nastaju na stolu za crtanje projektanta (po principu "kako moze da stane"),sabovi inzinjeri imaju totalno drugaciji pristup.Oni svoje automobile grade po svim osnovnim principima i nacelima avio industrije.......znaci-od vozaceve pozicje,grade auto unaokolo.....
Kao model koji ce se dugo pamtiti kod ljubitelja ove marke,na svom razvojnom putu,imao je razlicita tehnicka resenja,kao i oblike kaoserije.
Pored standardnog modela sa 3,4 i 5 vrata,redje je poznat model "safari"(karavan),a svakako biser ponude u ovom modelu je kabriolet verzija.
Definitivno je bilo dosta verzija modela 900,kao i ogranicenih(limitiranih) serija.....ali pisacemo o svakoj po nesto.
Evo slika karavana,cija je baza prakticno pocela na modelu 99 ali je tek prvi put napravljen u modelu 900....
Konacni proizvod je izgledao ovako:

Dolazak GM-a u saab,svakako je ostavio dubok oziljak na ovoj Svedskoj auto kuci, i iako se u 95. godini belezi najveci broj prodatih jedinica saab automobila,videcemo kasnije da u stvari nije sve bilo tako sjajno.Evo jednog klipa u kome se moze videti kako je izgledala proizvodna traka modela 900 u 1989toj godini,pre dolaska Amerikanaca.....

zbog cega nije krenuo masovno da se proizvodi saab 900 karavan, skoro sam ga video na slikama prvi put nisam ni znao da postoji po meni je ok taj safari kako ga nazvase glup naziv.

Pa kao i svi prototipovi koji nisu zaziveli - smatrali su da nece biti dovoljna potraznja da bi opravdala serijsku proizvodnju - tako su mislili i za kabriolet pa su se srecom preracunalinik 900t je napisao:zbog cega nije krenuo masovno da se proizvodi saab 900 karavan, skoro sam ga video na slikama prvi put nisam ni znao da postoji po meni je ok taj safari kako ga nazvase glup naziv.

...ja se borim danima da ga desifrujem,i uvek mi ove linije zadnjeg kosnika krova, iznad stopaljki prave rebus......lici mi zesce.....a mozda si u pravu.Znaci samo santimetar koso, da je slikala kamera iz bilo kog ugla(levo desno)...znali bi.
Ja u stvari ne znam tacno gde se on sklapao....i to je glavni problem za mene....

Od Safaria ima 11 komada ako se dobro secam, tako da u smislu neke serijske proizvodnje nema ni govora, zato mislim da ga nije bilo na traci.
Safari je CC gde je radila cirkularna testera pa se posle varilo. Inace fabrika za specijalne projekte kod Saaba je uglavnom bio Nistaat Finska. Tamo su radjeni kabrioleti 901ke, a kod 902 i 9-3 kabrio i kupe.
