Svoj prvi "Crossover" koncept "9-4X BioPower", Šveđani su predstavili javnosti 2008. na Salonu automobila u Detroitu.
Nakon mnoštva najava Saab je 2010. ozvaničio predstavljanje novog sportskog SUV crossovera – Saab 9-4X, a službeni debi novog 9-4X na predstojecem sajmu automobila u Los Anđelesu.
Švedski "Saab" je te godine na Salonu automobila u Los Anđelesu prvi put predstavio novi model "9-4X", a i ljubitelji automobila u Srbiji bili su u prilici da ga vide na tadasnjem Salonu automobila u Beogradu.
Unutrašnjost "9-4X" slična je kokpitu 9-5, kao što je, središnja konzola i dugme za paljenje na središnjoj konzoli. Ako se može reći da unutrašnjost ima ikakve sličnosti sa GM-ovim "SRX", luksuz u kabini je na znatno višem nivou, ali ipak sa jednom skandinavskom notom.
Preglednost instrument table je odlična, a volan sa ravnim dnom daje jednu sportsku notu automobilu. Ovaj švedski lepotan ima mali džojstik za ventilaciju vazduha, i jedinstvenu liniju vrata. Start/Stop dugme je između sedišta. Sedišta, imaju aktivne naslone za glavu (nešto što nećete pronaći u "SRX").
Ljudi prostor je dobar, napred/pozadi.
Nema treći red sedišta na raspolaganju.
U kabini nema puno pregrada za ostavljanje sitnica, osim pregrade ispod naslona za ruke i dva držača za čaše. Navigacioni ekran i grafika su identični onima u "SRX-u", a sistem je logika može biti poboljšana. Prekidači oko volana i na vratima, su međutim veoma dobro postavljeni. Na raspolaganju je i veliki, stakleni panorama krov, koji omogućava znatno osvetljavanje unutrašnjosti "9-4X".
"Saab 9-4X" ima mnogo toga zajedničkog sa "Cadilacom SRX" (a manju sličnost i sa "Chevrolet Equinox" i "GMC Terrain"), uključujući i svoju osnovnu platformu i standardne pogone, 3.0-litraV6 od 265 KS i 2.8-litra V6 sa turbo punjačem od 300 KS, sa šestobrzinskim automatskim menjačem. Iz "Saab-a" tvrde da njihovoj "zveri" treba 7,9 sekundi da ubrza 0-100 km / h i 8,4 sekundi s opcionim "all-wheel-drive" sistemom.
Zvanična prodaja "9-4X" pocela je 2010te godine u Evropi, a cena u Americi za osnovnu verziju sa prednjim pogonom počinje od 34.205, dok je "all-wheel-drive" verzija 36.700 dolara.Kod nas je ta cena bila 45.000 i 55.000 evra

Place mi se od muke svaki put kad vidim slike novih SAAB-ova i sta je sve moglo jos da bude.

Inace, bas komentarisem sa kolegama na poslu, da zivimo u nekoj normalnoj zemlji, gde kupovina novog auta nije naucna fantastika i da zivimo u svetu gde SAAB i dalje postoji, ovo bi najverovatnije bio moj izbor.
Mada je nova 9-5tica cista bolest koliko je dobar auto, ima nesto u ovoj 9-4x sto me je neodoljivo privlacilo.

This is a 9-4X 2.8 Turbo V6 XWD Aero, meaning it's got the 300 horsepower version of the engine Opel uses for the Insignia OPC, but never got to offer on anything else. With 33,700 kilometers on the clock (that's 20,900 miles), it's listed for sale on mobile.de for €44,444 ($56,428).
The car belongs to Autohaus Lafrentz GmbH, a German company from Kiel that specializes in selling and maintaining Saab vehicles. We checked their official Facebook page and found they have a whole fleet of Saab 9-4X in both Aero and Premium trim. The photos are a year old, but something tells us they still haven't sold all of them yet.
One of the red examples (check photo gallery below) is VIN#00002, while another is VIN#00026, which means these are the first of a dying breed of cars that you can own today for not a lot of money.

The 9-4X is classed as a luxury compact SUV and was launched in 2010 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Production started the following year and took place not in Trollhattan where Saabs are usually made but in Mexico at one of General Motors' factories.
The model measures 4,830mm in length (190 inches) and is closely related to the Cadillac SRX. US-spec models were designed to use a 3-liter naturally aspirated V6. However, European cars like ours offer a more advanced turbo with 300 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h takes 8.3 seconds and the top speed is 230 km/h.
Rumor has it that Saab didn't actually finish development of the 9-4X when it went on sale. So buy at your own risk."
